David graduated from Aberystwyth University in 1982 and completed his training with Fonseca Law in 1986. He went on to spend time working as a solicitor in the Welsh Office and another local firm before returning to Fonseca Law in 1988. He became a partner in 1990 and is now one of the directors of Fonsecalaw Limited. David specialises in family law and residential conveyancing. He is also a qualified criminal Duty Solicitor.
After graduating from Swansea University in 1993, Patrick trained with Fonseca Law qualifying as a solicitor in 1997. He became a partner in the firm in 2003 and is now one of the directors of Fonsecalaw Limited. Patrick has a broad based criminal and civil litigation practice and is a Higher Courts Advocate (All Proceedings). In particular Patrick advises on personal injury claims, contract and consumer claims, professional negligence claims and general commercial disputes. Patrick also deals with litigation arising from property and private client matters including Boundary Disputes and Inheritance Act claims.
Alan was previously the Senior Partner of a leading Gwent-based general practice with entries in Legal 500 and which was Law Firm of the Year 2011. This position gave him valuable experience of the management of both legal practice and large contracts for the supply of legal services. In addition, Alan is a very experienced and well respected Criminal Defence Lawyer. He has defended Clients before the Magistrates' Courts throughout his career and now specialises in criminal defence, conducting trials in the Magistrates' Courts on a weekly basis. He brings a wealth of experience and connections to the local community, reflecting the firm's ethos of being a local practice providing legal services to the whole community. He previously specialised in the law relating to special needs and had conduct of cases to the Court of Appeal.
Leighton joined the firm in June 2011 and is now a Director in the firm. He qualified in 2006 with Watkins & Gunn solicitors and specialises in Commercial and Residential Conveyancing, personal injury claims and Child Contact Matters. He has always worked in the South Wales area. He has higher rights of audience within the Criminal Courts.
Laura has recently returned to Fonseca Law after a period of two years working in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. She first joined Fonseca Law in June 2006 initially as a trainee solicitor, and qualified as a solicitor in 2008. She attended the University of Wales, Aberystwyth to obtain her Law degree, and attended Cardiff Law School for her Legal Practice Course. After spending almost 9 years with Fonseca Law she moved home to Oxfordshire in January 2015 and spent two years working for firms in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire and scoping out the local property market! Having returned to Fonseca Law as a Solicitor Director, Laura now deals with property and private client work in both Wales and Oxfordshire and travels between the two.
Laura was admitted as one of the first female Freemen of the City of Oxford in 2008 and has two young children who keep her busy.
Laura specialises in residential and commercial conveyancing and all property and land matters including leasehold enfranchisement. She also deals with wills and probate and powers of attorney.
